If you drive much on Texas Highways in the spring you will soon discover that those black and white fur balls on the road are obstacles to be avoided. We drive a good distance to town each moring and one day last week I counted at least 7 of the little boogers on the pavement in about an 8 mile stretch! After a while you learn the secrets of squashed skunk navigation through trial and error but here are a few of them to remember anyway.
- Never ever ever ever run over a skunk dead or alive.
- Never, ever go back to check on one if you do!
- When you first spot one in the distance turn off the air conditioning and vent fan and roll up your windows.
- Avoid the squash site at all costs!
- Once you pass the squash site , roll down windows and air your car out anyway , Because I guarantee you will still get a goodly portion of the odor in you vehicle no matter what precautions you take.

That is funny...but I am sorry...been there.

They really are cute! We once had a pet skunk named Peaches. She hung out with the dogs and we all went on walks together!

You have said a mouth full
about them little ol things
for sure.
They are cute.
I have had them rub up to my leg
before just little a little ol cat does.
They where not pets, but wild ones.
